About
The East Allen County Project
The East Allen County Project is the public record of a proposal to establish East Allen County as a new county, composed of twelve civil townships in eastern Allen County, Indiana.
The map, the research, the documents, and the petition all follow that same twelve-township boundary. They are set out so a resident, a township official, or a policymaker can read a figure on one page and find the same figure on the others.
The proposal is centered on the communities and unincorporated places east of Fort Wayne. Many of them already share East Allen County Schools, local institutions, and development work. The line in this file is not the school-corporation boundary and not a city limit. It is the twelve civil townships: Townships 29, 30, 31, and 32 North, Ranges 13, 14, and 15 East. That block is 12 townships, 372.90 square miles of land, and a 2020 population of 145,650. It is 56.7 percent of Allen County’s 657.15 square miles. The county’s 2020 population was 385,410.
The petition is the draft of the request to form that county. It has not been filed. No district has been enacted, and no public body has adopted the line. This project was established in 2026.
Important Information
- Map — the twelve townships, with the rest of the county still on the sheet.
- Research — every township, the 2020 population, and the city limits inside the district.
- Documents — the boundary written out, the cities on the line, and the note on sources.
- Transparency — money in, money out, donors, grants, and tax status. Nothing has been received or spent. This project is not a 501(c)(3).
- Petition — a draft asking the General Assembly to amend the county-size rule and then organize East Allen County on that line. This site does not collect signatures.
